The initial design was an octagon in Solidworks that was lofted into a pentagon and was intended to be a shade for a hanging lamp.

On the Illustrator file I numbered the center of each section to keep in order.
The finished form lost some height proportionally from the rendered model, due most likely to mis measurement.

Overall I am satisfied with the shade and with the light bulb I chose for it.

Lamp design is inspired by taking the typical "form" of a lamp sold today, but dividing it into individual planes. The inspiration for the shape also drew from the shape of a tree. The materials for the project, so I thought paying homage to this materials source was important. The bulb for the project is frosted and releases a soft light that will not blind the user.

A friend referred me to some precedent images that he found online:

Since I am a deer hunter this was a logical choice to "mount" a deer head.  This lamp is meant to be a wall sconce.

I found some jpeg images online that helped aid the design of the lamp.  I created and assembled the pieces to create a 3D rhino model.

Inspiration:

I am planning on using a modular "wavy" wall panel system in my room and wanted to create a contemporary lamp that would match the wall when it is complete.
